BrainTox helps track expenses, income, recurring charges and financial habits without turning budgeting into a spreadsheet chore. The app keeps the core records local on the device and adds sarcastic, optional commentary around spending behavior.

Privacy posture

The current mobile version does not require an account. We take only what is needed: financial records are written to a local database on the device, and nothing leaves the phone unless you run an export, an import, an email or a share yourself. If that changes at some stage of the project, the privacy policy is updated before such a build ships.

Is BrainTox free? Yes. BrainTox is free on Google Play, and every feature is unlocked from the first install.

Do I need to create an account? The app opens straight into tracking: no sign-up, no email, no verification step.

Is my financial data sent to any servers? No. Transaction records are kept in a local database on your device, and the export to CSV or a full JSON copy runs from inside the app. BrainTox has no analytics and no crash reporting, not even Sentry. The current list of what the app transmits is published in the privacy policy.

Can I export my data? Yes. BrainTox supports CSV export for transaction data and JSON backup for full data portability.

What is the sarcastic commentary feature? BrainTox reacts to each transaction with a humorous, sarcastic comment based on the category and amount. You can choose from three toxicity levels or disable it entirely.

What Android version is required? BrainTox runs on Android 7.0 and above.

Does BrainTox support multiple currencies? Yes. BrainTox supports 54 currencies for tracking expenses and income, with a name and flag for each.

Can I track recurring subscriptions? Yes. BrainTox lets you track recurring expenses like subscriptions, rent, and bills with local reminders.

How will I know if something changes? Every version ships with release notes in Google Play, and the privacy policy is updated before a build that changes data handling goes out. Nothing changes quietly between releases.

Is BrainTox suitable for serious financial planning? BrainTox is designed for quick, everyday spending awareness with humor. It is not a replacement for professional financial tools or accounting software.
